Angel “Halo” Lopez Eager To Compete In Front Of Hometown Fans; Takes on Cleber Luciano For Title At F2W 96

Angel “Halo” Lopez is one heck of a representative for the sport of jiujitsu and the city of Fresno. After receiving his black belt under Tinguinha back in 2016, he came back less than a year later and became Fresno’s first world champion black belt.

The truth is, he caught the competition bug since day one. Lopez began training in 2010. In the last 8 years, he’s competed in over 100 tournaments, earned 4 Masters World titles and over 20 other national/international titles.

“Jiu Jitsu…. It’s my life man, so it means everything to me. Jiu Jitsu is my teacher in life and keeps me centered and in control. Training for me is my life so basically, I train everyday several times a day. I have many influences, number one being GOD. My professors, students, family and basically all positive people are who influences me. The art is my life, so it means everything.”

As a professor with one of the top programs in the area, Angel is excited to compete in front of his students at Fight 2 Win 96.

“First of all, I am from Fresno, CA so I’m excited to compete here. Secondly, I’m excited that F2WP has decided to bring the best professional jiu jitsu event to our city.”

He’ll be taking on another CA-based legend in Cleber Luciano for the 155 lbs. Masters black belt gi title. It’ll be a tough test and one to add to an already lengthy list of competition accomplishments for Angel. To his credit, he believes he’ll be more than ready.

“I’ve prepare the same way for this as I do for all my matches. I train daily with a positive attitude moving towards the future regardless of the outcome. I expect it’s going to be a great fight and definitely a barn burner! (and to the fans) I am overwhelmed and stoked and would like to thanks everyone for all the support. Can’t wait for Friday night!”
