As far as last week (Fight 2 Win 92) goes, some of the most impressive performances according to this writer belong to the females of Colorado BJJ. There was a total of 7 female matches on the card, including teens. 4 out of 7 ended in submissions but the others were dynamic and hotly contested.
Let’s take a closer look at the winners and how they did:
Fight 2 Win 92 – Female Match Winners
Mo Black
Mo Black was up against a beast of an opponent (Crystal Demopolous) in defense of her F2W NOGI flyweight title. Crystal has a very tricky guard and is also super strong but Mo was able to stave her off and control some key positions to win the split decision on the judges’ cards to continue her ascent in BJJ.
Ashley Lynn
Haven’t seen too much of Ashley Lynn lately but she won convincely here – progressing forward methodically prior to a win by cross choke over Erin Stolzman.
Karla Shellhammer
For a Masters competitor, Karla Shellhammer has the spunk of a fresh juvenile. Competing often, she’s always aggressive with her guard play and ended the match in this fashion, nearly getting the sub but pulling out the decision over Tessa Neely.
Ana Mayordomo García
Easton’s Ana Mayordomo García might be one of the top young female prospects in all of Colorado. The 18 year old was quick to take the back of MMA vet Cassie Robb and threatened subs throughout en route to a decision win.
Emily Fernandez
Coming into this match, it was hard to fathom how Emily Fernandez would handle the physicality of always-impressive Jaidyn Mueller but she was quickly able to control the match from her closed/figure-four guard, looking for her patented kimuras but eventually finishing with a very tight armbar.
Courtney King
Courtney King was impressive. She finished Beth Huddleston with a nasty bow & arrow choke after pursuing the sub for the entire match.
SaVannah Cosme
In a match of the youngest female reps on the card, SaVannah Cosme was able to submit Saleah Pescevic via armbar.
