It was a loud and exciting night at the Grand Hyatt in Sacramento last Friday with Fight 2 Win in the building. The fans were loud and invested in all the matches and when all was said and done, F2W CEO Seth Daniels labeled Sacramento the best crowd in the country.
There was some great action on the stage at Fight 2 Win 97. In the main event of the evening, Unity’s Tex Johnson was able to defend his title against Eliot Kelly. It was a tactical match but Tex’s willingness to engage in the leg lock game may have won him this one. There would another close decision in the co-main event as well, with Bryant Pangelinan scoring the narrow victory over 10P’s Tim Freeman. Later down the card, Cassia Paixao was able to win the F2W brown belt title with her victory over Elizabeth Mitrovic in another close match.
Some of the more impressive submissions of the night belonged to: Ricardo Pantcho Feliciano for his swift armbar over Ernesto Mello, Chad Bingham for his helicopter armbar over David Henson, and Mikey Singh Hothi for his own armbar over Thomas Haley.
